La La Land Receives BAFTA Award for Best Film

The musical also became a leader in four more nominations of the ceremony.

The 70th BAFTA film awards ceremony is over in London. The main favorite of the award was the musical La La Land, directed by Damien Chazelle, which received five honorary awards: “Best Film”, “Best Director”, “Best Cinematography”, “Best Composer”, and “Best Actress” (Emma Stone). Unfortunately, in the category “Best Actor” the film (or rather, the leading actor Ryan Gosling) was left with nothing. In this category, he was ahead of the painting "Manchester by the Sea" with Casey Affleck.

In the piggy bank of the musical "La La Land", we recall, there are already awards of the Venice Film Festival, Golden Globe, the Screen Actors Guild of the USA, the Guild of Directors of the USA. Read moreHERE.

It now remains to wait for the main event of the year -89th Academy Awardwhich will be held February 26 in Los Angeles. There, La La Landa also has every chance to break into the leaders in terms of the number of awards: the musical is nominated in 14 categories, including as “Best Film”, “Best Director”, “Best Original Screenplay”,"Best Actor" and "Best Actress." Earlier, only Titanic and All About Eve had a similar success.
