How to make a wall-gallery
It seems that people have completely opposite opinions regarding the wall gallery. It can cause skepticism because of simplicity, and vice versa, make a person give up the idea, because of the insecurity that something worthy will turn out. In fact, the truth is somewhere in the middle. Absolutely everyone can make it, but for this it is necessary to put some effort and have some ideas. We broke the whole process into six stages. We will try to describe all the work here in detail. For this project you will need:There are several ways to design a wall gallery, but we believe that the simplest thing is to measure the wall, transfer these dimensions to the floor and build a frame directly on it. So first we need to know the size of the wall.We measured the wall and the space that will occupy the frame. This step can be skipped, but I like to have an idea of how the frames should be placed before I actually start spreading them. This will help more fully take into account all the features of the wall when framing the framework, for example, the presence of a rail to protect the walls from damage to the backs of chairs. There are many ways of placing frames, and if you have a creative look, it is likely your intuition will tell how it to do. But if you do not know where to start, here are a few options.
- Nails with a narrow head.
Sketch the layout of the frames on paper
Option 1: Alignment at the bottom edgeThe lower parts of the frames are aligned along one line, while the vertices can be located in a staggered okay On this version, we stopped, as it allowed to leave an even space between the rack and the edge of each frame.
Option 2: Alignment on the bottom andtop edgeThis is quite difficult to do, as you will need frames that perfectly fit together. The easiest way to do this is if you buy them in 1-2 sizes, which you will work with.
Option 3: Align with the upper edgeWe usually use this style. The upper parts of the frames are aligned at the same level, while the lower ones are located differently.
Option 4: Aligning the centerThis option looks more natural, but as a result may create an impression of randomness . There is an imaginary line that runs through the center of the gallery. Some frames go a little above this line, others - a little lower, but the line itself remains at the same level. And again, you can always arrange your frames randomly (bases of any alignment), but if you don’t know what start, you can use the options above. Note: we like it when the space between the frames remains the same as possible. For this wall gallery we chose a distance of 3 cm, but if the frames were large, it could grow to 5 cm.
